Wellness Hotel Winzer - then and now
From a holiday guesthouse to the top address for wellness
- In 1969 Walter and Elfriede Winzer bought their dream plot of land to build a holiday guesthouse on.
- In 1971 Guesthouse Winzer was opened providing 25 beds.
- In 1973, only two years later, they expanded to 48 beds.
- In 1975 the indoor swimming pool was built, which was the foundation stone for today’s wide ranged offer of activities and entertainment. Since then, Hotel Winzer continuously expanded to become what it is today, with its wide range of offers.
- In 1976 the bowling alley and English Bar were opened.
- In 1982 the restaurant was redesigned.
- In 1985 Hotel Winzer integrated its own butcher's shop to process meat products.
- In 1988 family Winzer bought more land, so that they could build recreational facilities and a children’s playground.
- In 1991 a garage hall, squash room and children’s playground were built.
- In 1991 there was cause for a special celebration at the Hotel Winzer: son Wilfried Thomas married his beloved Renate in April of that year. Since then, the married couple have dedicated themselves, together with the parents, in successfully running Hotel Winzer.
- In 1992 the glazed panorama room was opened for cosy hours with a spectacular view.
- In 1993 the south wing was completely modernised; comfort rooms and family suites were provided. In the same year the solar heated outdoor bathing facility was built.
- In 1994 the beauty department was opened and the restaurants and buffet areas were redesigned.
- Between 1993 and 1996 the north section – entrance, foyer and rooms – was extended and renovated as a whole.
- Between 1997 and 1998 the rooms on the west wing were enlarged and renovated, and a new stone sauna and second treatment room were built. The sauna fitness room and bowling alley were also revamped.
- Between 1999 and 2000 the Wellness Schloessl was completed, with luxurious suites and apartments. The panorama terrace was also expanded and a comfortable winter garden was built, adding to the aesthetic of the house.
- In November 2000 till 2001 work began for the enlargement and expansion of the wellness area in accordance with popular trends. A large, modern health, beauty and massage facility was built in the top floor of the Wellness Schloessl.
- 2001/02 a new indoor pool and bathing facility, with whirl corner, massage beds and waterfall, was built. Amethyst Room with heated precious stone loungers. Expansion of the beauty farm and also buffet area. Renewal of the hotel bar. A beautiful summer garden is added.
- 2003 an outdoor bathing facility with sunbathing lawn. New Kinderland with Pit-Pat miniature table-top golf and softplay facilities. The cabin sauna and an additional relaxation room were opened An additional Ayurveda treatment room is set up.
- In 2004 the foyer and reception area were converted and a new restaurant, VENEZIA, was opened up.
- In 2005 two new relaxation rooms were added: “Room of Senses” and “Room of Comfort”.
- In 2006 the new residence was built with 16 Smooch rooms and 16 double rooms “Emotion”. The new Emotion Spa with indoor bathing facility, panorama sauna, relaxation room and Vitality bar with a cosy room for socialising.
